Harvest Cooking

Harvest Cooking.

Every year at Whitehall, the children work together to create a traditional harvest sheaf made out of bread. Each year group took it in turns to come to the hall and make their own dough which they then shaped into balls and sausages. The children then placed their dough onto the sheaf which was finished off with a plait and a very cheeky mouse.

After smelling the delicious aromas wafting from the kitchen, the children were all looking forward to seeing their creations. The harvest sheaves were on display during the Harvest assembly the following day and are now being sent to local churches in Somersham and Bluntisham to be shared with our wider community.

At the end of our whole school cooking day, every child took home their own bread roll that they had also made.
